Do I need an account?

No. Contextory runs entirely locally on your Mac. No account, no sign-up, no email required.

Do I need internet?

No, not for core use. Internet is only needed to download optional AI models (Ollama) if you want to enable AI features.

Do I need Ollama?

No. Ollama is completely optional and only needed if you want to enable AI summaries and semantic search features.

Does Contextory upload my data?

No. All data is stored locally on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded to any server by default.

Does it record my screen or microphone?

No. In v1.0, Contextory does not record your screen or microphone. It only tracks which apps you use and when.

What platforms are supported?

Contextory v1.0 is available for macOS. Windows support is planned for a future release.
